The Beauty of Living In Japan is much more than the cherry blossoms, the food, the art, Kyoto.
The beauty is also in what we can learn here.
I learn something I never knew before.
I hear a perspective that I could not have imagined before.
Here’s an example.
A visitor to the gallery yesterday told us about his three dogs and two kids. His kids are 2 and 4 and his dogs are 2, 3 and 8. He showed us a photo. Really beautiful family.
He told me the older dog is very gentle and will be a great teacher for his kids.
I asked him what he meant, and he told me they love the dog, and when the dog dies, the kids will learn about death and sadness. Something they have to experience.
I thought that was so beautiful.
So true and something I don’t think I would have heard if I had not come to live here.
